The Red-Tailed Hawks Flying Club (RTH), Black Pilots of America, Inc. (BPA), is a 501(c) (3) organization. Its mission is to introduce underrepresented and underserved youth to the world of aviation, engage their minds in practical applications of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), ground them in aviation history, inspire them towards aerospace related careers, and help them learn to fly.
The RTH purpose is to be a numerator in the national equation and multiply the number of underrepresented persons in the aviation industry. The aspiration is an industry that looks more like the nation in which we live. Women are only 6% of the pilots in the United States and less than 2% of the pilots are black.
