Juma Ventures Seattle (Juma Seattle) believes in the power and potential of young people. But too many young people want to work and lack the education, skills, and confidence they need to get and keep a job. They need a chance, and Juma’s YouthConnect program gives them that chance.
Juma Seattle strives to break the cycle of poverty by paving the way to work, education and financial capability for low-income youth.
Our YouthConnect program supports youth, ages 16-24 years old, who have grown up in poverty, experienced trauma, have spent time in foster care, experienced homelessness or experienced other barriers to employment. The program combines employment and job training at our social enterprises (concession stands at Lumen Field, T-Mobile Park and Husky Stadium) with a complementary suite of services focused on building financial capability and career pathways toward middle-skills careers and a living wage.
Since launching in 2013, Juma Seattle has hired over 725 Seattle-area youth who have
collectively earned over $2.3 million in wages.
