Job Corps

Job Corps provides intake and referrals to a job training program for youth with limited job skills and financial resources. Provides free academic, vocational and social skills training in a safe, residential environment. Provides placement services to help graduates find jobs.

Training is open-entry, open exit, and can last up to two years. The first weeks in Job Corps are spent in orientation. On a typical day, a client is either in class or in vocational training. Evenings are spent in recreational and educational activities. Youth who live near a Job Corps Center may want to enroll as a "non-residential" student, living at home with all the benefits of other Job Corps students. In Washington, centers are located in Sedro Woolley, Moses Lake, Curlew and White Swan. Job Corps is a division of the Employment and Training Administration at the U.S. Department of Labor.
