The mission of Project Girl Mentoring Program (PGMP) is to foster the advancement of young women of color to make positive life choices and to maximize their authentic potential. PGMP is a group-mentoring program serving young women of color between the ages of 11-18 in Snohomish County. We provide curriculum-based mentoring that uses life skills as educational components to empower young women of color. Young women of color disproportionately face challenges (racisms, unrealistic standards, body image and low representation) that compound the difficulty of growing up. Our purpose is to be a safe place for young women to come and feel encouraged and hopeful about their future as they navigate life.
