Elevate Washington is a source for comprehensive, statewide data about youth programs.
We offer a critical vantage point from which to pinpoint gaps and connect the dots. Our data system is powered by youth program providers who share information in our member system. These insights inform strategies that help elevate the youth development field and target resources to where they’re needed most.
How do you STEM?
Every state is asking youth programs to share more about their STEM offerings. Your answers will help us understand how we can support afterschool and summer programs statewide. The survey should take 5-10 minutes and everyone who responds will be entered into a drawing to win one of ten $100 Visa gift cards.
Out-of-school time arts learning contributes to student success.
Students who study art are 4 times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement and 3 times more likely to be awarded for school attendance. (National Endowment for the Arts)
Washington is rich in science, technology, engineering, and math-focused (STEM) opportunities.
High-quality afterschool and summer STEM learning opportunities—as well as career connected and work-integrated learning—are key to equipping youth with the knowledge and skills needed to join a dynamic workforce.

Strengthening Programs. Empowering Youth.
School’s Out Washington (SOWA) is working to ensure equitable access to high-quality, expanded learning programs in all Washington communities—especially for low-income youth and youth of color.
SOWA created the Elevate Washington member system and youth program directory so that we have the tools and information needed to see where youth programs are operating in our state and better understand who’s being served. With this critical data, we’re able to advocate for resources and also provide families with an easy way to find programs in their area.
