Out of School Time, Appian Way Apartments

MHNW provides Out of School Time (OST) programming at 19 properties across WA state; Appian Way Apartments in Kent is one site, and OST is for youth 5-18 who live at Appian Way and in the surrounding community. It involves tutoring, homework help, literacy, healthy snack, as well as programs that connect parents to schools and principals. Appian has a data sharing agreement with local schools to help MHNW keep updated on a child's school performance, work directly with teachers, and intervene as needed if there are issues impacting academic progress. During COVID, we have been doing online learning; bought shields to protect kids in common spaces; and increased connectivity so multiple kids can be online with their schools/teachers.
