Latinx Programs

YES' Latinx programs provide culturally-relevant youth development activities facilitated by bilingual (Spanish-English)/bicultural staff, including activities to promote leadership skills, and youth-led community service projects and cultural events. The program uses ethnicity as a strength in helping Latinx youth develop self-esteem, leadership skills, and the motivation to achieve academically. This after-school program in Bellevue and Redmond provides a weekly support group for Latinx students at risk of dropping out of school, using the evidence-based approach of culturally-responsive, trauma-informed prevention services to increase a sense of belonging at school and in the community. In 2021, this program will expand to Kirkland.
