Program Overview
Y-Scholars Summer University is an intensive six-week program designed to expand professional and academic interest using culturally relevant curriculum to stimulate learning. Summer University incorporates career exploration, college readiness, health/fitness, and video production activities to keep BIPOC students engaged in academic and extracurricular activities over summer.
Expanding on services offered throughout the school year, Summer University provides opportunities for BIPOC high school students to :

- Improve their positive self-identities as scholars of color capable of great academic achievements
- Develop as student leaders who hold positions on the student body association
- Lead or launch school clubs at high rates
- Connect with relationships, resources, and skills needed to prepare for success in high school and college
The program's primary goals are to
1) Increase the number of BIPOC students who enroll in and succeed in advanced-level classes
2) Increase the graduation rate for BIPOC students

Summer University offers a hybrid of in-person and remote programming. Masks and social distancing are required.
