Who It's For
YOUTH WHO ARE
Youth from Gonzaga's middle school mentoring programs are recruited for Sparks. First year and sophomore high school students are the main audience. Students may be referred by school staff as well. Typically, youth exhibit risk factors in the ABC's.
Program Overview
Sparks is a team mentoring program that meets at J.R. Rogers High School once per week. Sparks fosters a safe and supportive environment for youth through positive relationships where strengths are explored.
Youth build social, emotional, and academic skills through inclusive and intentional programming which emphasizes college and career exploration, and leadership development. Sparks mentors attend programming on Wednesdays from 2:30-4:30 pm, and will participate in enrichment activities on campus once per semester.
