Program Overview
Offers fun and intensive introductory radio journalism workshops for high-school aged youth throughout the year. All RadioActive workshops are free, and participants receive stipends for their completed work. No broadcasting or journalism experience required! In fact, we prioritize youth who do not already have access to robust arts and media programs.
RadioActive participants learn about journalism, audio recording, audio editing, interviewing, writing for broadcast and speaking on the air. They create stories and podcasts on topics of their choice. Graduates of introductory RadioActive workshops can stay involved as advanced producers. They continue to produce radio stories and podcasts, and can join our youth leadership committees.
