Gig Harbor Peninsula Historical Society dba Harbor History Museum

The mission of the Harbor History Museum is to create opportunities to experience and explore the heritage of the greater Gig Harbor communities. We do this by collecting, preserving, and sharing the rich history of this area. Our vision is to be the cornerstone that provides a sense of identity for our community.

The museum maintains 8000+ square feet of exhibits, an outdoor courtyard gallery, as well as an engaging website of history mysteries (www.harbormysterymuseum.org) designed for at-home learners. An 1893 one-room Midway schoolhouse and 65-foot wooden fishing boat Shenandoah are highlights of our collection. We maintain a collection of more than 10,000 objects, images, and ephemera.
