The Garage, a Teen Cafe

The Garage's mission is to provide a safe, after-school drop-in place for teens where they can gather with their friends and access programming and services as needed. All services and goods are free of charge and we work actively to connect with a diverse network of teens so that every voice can be heard and appreciated. Teens work with guidance from Program Coordinators, trained in specific youth engagement strategies, emphasizing active listening, learning, and encouragement. Teen-led programs include creating and producing poetry slams, movie showings, game nights, and open houses focusing on pressing teen issues in the community. This programming model provides a much-needed space for social and emotional support for young people.
