YOUTH WHO ARE
Youth ages 16 and 17.
Teens must never have had a traffic infraction referred to a youth or teen court, not have a conviction for a violation of any provision of RCW Title 46, and may not be under the jurisdiction of any court for a violation of any provision of RCW Title 46.
Negligent driving offenses will not be referred to Youth Court.
Teens may only attend the Youth Court if they admit to committing the offense.

Program Overview
Bothell Youth Court is a community-based intervention and prevention program that provides an alternative response to the adult municipal court for first-time traffic infraction offenders 18 and under.
Community youth are empowered to determine the appropriate consequences for their peers and to hold them accountable for their actions. The program provides educational services and hands-on experiences in the judicial system to the youthful offenders and volunteers. Our goal is to promote and increase life and coping skills, leading to enhanced public safety and creating future leaders in the community.
Our program allows for cases to be heard from all sides of the story. This discussion leads to a disposition. A disposition is the action that the respondent is responsible for in order to repair the harm caused by their infraction. In lieu of having their infraction on record, restorative justice allows an avenue for the respondent to contribute to their community.
