Adaptive Riding

Our Adaptive Riding program focuses on increasing individual riding skills while gaining a therapeutic benefit. The goals set for each rider vary as much as the riders do and include improved physical strength, muscle tone, balance, mobility and hand-eye coordination. The more subtle improvements are fortified self-esteem, self-control and self-confidence. These classes also develop social skills as riders interact with their classmates, volunteers and instructors while on the horse. They then create a wide variety of games and exercises designed to help achieve these goals. The highly individualized lessons take into account the rider's physical, emotional, and mental strengths and limitations.
