Program Overview

The IAWW/IACS Youth Leadership Program (YLP) consists of approximately 350 youth enrolled into one of four groups: Youth Outreach (11-13 years), Youth Council 13-17 years), Youth Advocacy (10-20-year-old), and Youth Board (14 - 17 years). Each group meets twice monthly year round to take part in workshops (addressing advocacy and leadership on mental health, racism, civic advocacy, leadership, organizing, CPR, Natural Helper, anti-bullying, improv), service projects, peer mentoring and tutoring. The youth board and counselors plan an annual five day summer camp, Camp Bharat, for 220 youth (8-18 years) from King County, which is the only program of its kind within the US Asian Indian community, and celebrated its 31st-anniversary last year.
