YOUTH WHO ARE
All of our programming is free and only requires a simple registration. However, it is important to note that programming such as employment and academics we work with the local school districts, community partners, and juvenile justice to plan and disseminate information on activities. If a youth or their families are not engaged in these platforms they may miss the opportunity. We also utilize all platforms of social media and local media to ensure accessibility, however found that our best resource has been direct contact with the youth and families in the school setting. One example in how we provide outreach to parents in the school setting, is to participate in School Open Houses. In 2020 this was not an option, however we were able to resume this in the 2021 school year.
Program Overview
The mission is to help in the elimination of unemployment, poverty and Illiteracy so that people of all colors and creeds can live their lives with greater human dignity. The mission includes the provision of health, educational and human services, economic development and services to secure and provide safe, decent, and affordable housing to eligible participants and residents in the State of Washington. The Vision is improving the world by empowering people. Values Statement: All people deserve respect, dignity, opportunity, education, and upward mobility to become self-sufficient.
STAFF TO YOUTH RATIO
1 staff for every 15 youth
Health & Safety
All safety measures will follow local, state and federal guidelines. Our agency practices social distancing and has check points in all offices that provide a check-in station and PPE supplies for all staff and participants.
Meal/Snacks

For 20 years, we have partnered with the Yakima School District (YSD) to distribute breakfast and lunch.
We have had support from various community partners and parents to provide snacks. This year as apart of the Summer Funding from SOWA, we were able to provide snacks all summer, and meals after YSD closed their summer meal program on July 31st, enabling us to maintain the program two additional weeks. In addition, HBCC has a Level 3 Restaurant License with a commercial kitchen and has the flexibility to adapt quickly. Our staff attends annual training provided by YSD to meet all necessary regulations.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions you will need to call our office to scheduled a time to pick up and or complete a registration form, you can also request it to be emailed to you. Additional forms may be requested based on additional programming provided by outside agencies.
