Red-Tailed Hawks Youth Program

Red-Tailed Hawks Youth program is a year-around program consisting of monthly meetings tailored to preparing the next generation of pilots, engineers and technicians. Students are recruited in middle and high school. During the monthly meetings, they are exposed to the principles of flying, learn about aviation history, and participate in discovery flights during the summer. They also engage in research and learn communication skills through oral presentations on aviation topics. Meetings are held at aviation related sites, including The Boeing Company and Alaska Airlines. Students who commit to learn to fly and complete certain requirements are given financial and other resources towards obtaining their private pilot license.
