Oasis programming spans the advocacy, prevention, and leadership development continuum. As a result of COVID-19 and social distancing practices, we have adapted our weekly programs to a virtual platform. Youth can still engage in creative, life-changing activities and programs designed and led by staff, volunteers, and youth leaders.
Each Friday of the month has a different focus :
1st Friday - Friday Forum is an open space to have discussions surrounding relevant topics in the world and everyday life.
2nd Friday - Through Queer Chef,we tap into the talents of those comfortable in the kitchen, explore with the curious and define, in our own way, what it means to eat healthily.
3rd Friday - O.P.E.N. teaches communication skills, critical thinking, and media literacy to promote healthy relationships and prevent relationship violence and sexual violence in the LGBTQ community.
4th Friday - Media Talks allows youth to discuss LGBTQ representation in media, films, books, and more. Youth also share what they've seen already and what changes they want to see for better presentation.
If you are a current youth, or need an intake, and would like to join us in our programs, please contact us. Oasis transforms the lives of queer and questioning youth by creating a safe place to learn, connect, and thrive. Oasis envisions a world in which queer youth are valued in the community as strong, creative leaders. We are a youth-adult partnership where young people and adults come together for shared teaching, learning, and action.
