Oasis envisions a world in which queer youth are valued in the community as strong, creative leaders, and Oasis programming spans the prevention/advocacy/leadership development continuum.
As the trusted and leading gathering place and resource for LGBTQ youth in Pierce County, Oasis is a powerful influence on the community by offering: a safe space for LGBTQ youth to gather during non-school hours; support from adult role models and mentors; activities with peers and opportunities for personal growth; and access to education, information, resources, and support necessary to enable participants to make meaningful and healthy life choices, and develop leadership.
Oasis Youth Center is also crime victim service center agency for Pierce County, ensuring residents have resources and support available when recovering from the immediate and long-term impacts of childhood physical abuse, hate violence, assault, robbery, identity theft, elder abuse, and related forms of victimization.
