YOUTH WHO ARE
At Leadership Launch, we serve teens in the Mukilteo School District ages 14-19 who are committed to acting on their sense of social responsibility and conscience and are primarily first-generation college-bound teens of color. Our teens are nominated into Leadership Launch by teachers and counselors based on: (1) the students’ demonstrated commitment to social responsibility and ability to engage and lead among peers; and (2) significant barriers they face in achieving their leadership goals.
Program Overview
LYLO & Link Summer Program is a seven-day leadership intensive that includes activities for Leadership Launch students and partners to build relationships, have fun, explore, learn about community, while launching a leadership community service project. The curriculum begins with a two-day team-building retreat, and for the next five days, youth will: (1) Explore cities in the region to learn about community industry sectors, including Arts & Culture, Law & Justice, through scavenger hunts; (2) Compete in amazing race-themed puzzles and team challenges at various organizations to connect to organizations and businesses; (3) Adventure through the outdoors with hiking and other activities; (4) Attend sporting events; and (5) Launch a community service project created and led by peers, culminating with a celebration of their accomplishments.

We provide mostly home-cooked healthy meals and snacks during our meeting times.

This program regularly takes place at different locations.
The first Sunday of the month we meet at 2145 Clover Court. The remaining Sundays we meet at the Village on Casino Road located at 14 E. Casino Road, Everett, WA 98208.

How To Register
You can email Leadership Launch's Executive Director, Rachel Kittle to get more information about getting involved with Leadership Launch. The steps include 1) Nomination: students must be nominated to Leadership Launch by a leader in the community that is not part of the family (teacher, coach, adult mentor, religious leader, anyone influential in the student's life, etc.); 2) Application: students fill out a google doc application; and 3) Parent/Guardian Affirmation: a parent or guardian fills out a google doc form.
Required Forms & Documents
Students fill out the nomination, application, and affirmation forms referenced above. Then there are a series of waivers to be submitted.
