Program Overview
The overall goal of Consejo’s School Based Counseling is to support Latino youth to succeed in school. Youth participants receive substance use prevention, intervention, domestic violence education, sexual assault prevention, mental health evaluations, mental health treatment, and psychiatric care. Consejo provides school based services in all of the major school districts located in King and Pierce Counties.

- Gang Prevention Community Education Training to assist in identifying the warning signs of gang behavior including graffiti and graphics, gestures, dress codes, as well as language and music..
- El programa de Intervención Latino, trabaja con jóvenes afiliados a grupos de pandillas locales y jóvenes que pueden ser posibles candidatos para ser reclutados “Could be’s”(Que podrían ser); jóvenes que buscan afiliación a una pandilla “Wanna be’s”(Que quieren ser); miembros de pandillas regulares, y los más radicales y experimentados altos miembros de pandillas.
- Recovery Services including drug and alcohol treatment, mental health counseling, family counseling, grief and loss therapy, and support groups.
Consejo provides care for youth in their educational environment. Consejo promotes positive mental health and strives to prevent and minimize ongoing mental health conditions. The agency also provides co-occurring disorder treatment.
