Program Overview
Power Hour
Power Hour is a mandatory hour where members work on their homework and school related activities. Power Hour encourage youth to be responsible for their homework and academic success by providing them a quiet environment in which to complete their homework. Adult and youth volunteers provide homework help and tutoring to encourage members to become self-directed learners.
Be Great: Graduate
Introduces Club members, ages 6 through 15 to the concept of academic goal setting. In one-on-one sessions with Club professionals, members set achievable "Know-I-Can" goals, more challenging "Think-I-Can" goals and yearly "Believe I Can" goals, then create action plans. The program provides for recognition of members' achievements at every step of the journey.
Youth Tutoring Program
Students work one-to-one with tutors to build skills in reading and math, get help with homework, and strengthen self-esteem and self-respect.
