Mari’s Place For The Arts provides cultural programs for children of families from all income levels and ethnic backgrounds.
As participants become older and more skilled, they often return to teach classes to younger students. Belonging to a community, and particularly giving back to a community, improves resilience in vulnerable children.
It has been found that such children tend to set early goals and gain strength, confidence, trust and teh ability to recognize their gifts resulting in successful future lives.
Classes empower young people to see their potential and pursue a hopeful future to become community leaders and civically engaged. Mari's Place also advises and assists youth to access college.
In our summer camps/classes:
- We encourage them to flourish
- To bring joy, happiness and laughter into their lives
- To install pride, and a sense of achievement
