We deliver free, multigenerational, 12-week (6 hours per week) courses, one for parents and one for their children ages 5 to 12 that enliven voices that already exist in communities of color so they can affect systemic change that leads to better schools, smaller opportunity gaps, greater economic stability, and stronger communities. The children's version, called the CLTI or Children's Leadership Training Institute, uses an age-appropriate, literacy- and social-justice based curricula to teach leadership, public-speaking, reading skills, civics, and how to understand democracy. Kids receive books at every class to build home libraries, and they develop cohort community projects to benefit their schools or neighborhoods.
