Community for Youth (CfY) pairs students from south Seattle public high schools with mentors. We emphasize mentor training and support, carefully trains mentors to coach students, keep boundaries, and build healthy relationships.
Students and mentors participate in intensive, growth-focused two-day camps, monthly workshops, and community activities that foster life-success skills. It is the largest mentoring program in the Seattle high school system.
CfY’s program is designed to step past traditional mentoring practices and offer a Critical Mentoring experience that centers the young person. CfY centers youth as collaborators because they deserve to have their voice heard, their value is seen and respected, and their leadership activated.
CfY guides youth through powerful transformation by leveraging strong and enduring one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever! Through powerful community and critical mentoring, CfY will support the success of our students in High School and Beyond. Our program is an academic year (October – June) and requires commitment from the student for the duration of the program.
