Program Overview
Our Whole School, Whole Child program deploys teams of AmeriCorps members into elementary, middle, and high schools to help teachers meet the needs of students furthest from educational justice. This year, 86 AmeriCorps members are serving 10 schools and 5,200 students. The program offers targeted academic, social-emotional, and attendance supports as well as extended-day and whole-school offerings that are integrated into the school environment.

During the 2020-21 school year, the program is deployed in 10 Seattle Public Schools: Chief Sealth High School; Aki Kurose & Denny Middle School; South Shore K-8; Concord, Highland Park, MLK Jr., Rising Star, Roxhill, & Wing Luke Elementary Schools.

How To Register
City Year Seattle/King County partners with the teachers and administrators at this school to determine the classrooms and students that will be supported by AmeriCorps members. A team of AmeriCorps members serves the entire student body through whole-school initiatives, provides support to some classroom teachers, and small group interventions to students in the areas of math, English language arts, and social/emotional learning.
