Many Black youth do not attend college due to insufficient parental or academic support with the application and enrollment process. Our College Admissions Process (CAP) Program fills this gap. Mentors meet every other week with Black and multiracial students at Clover Park H.S., guiding them as they identify motivations for attending college, prepare for the ACT and SAT, compile portfolios, locate scholarships and other financial aid, apply, and enroll. We focus on getting students into the higher education institution of their choosing, making sure they are informed about historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) as well as all other options.
